Product Description

Asia contributes for 65.8% of world green pepper and chillies. Chillies grown in Asia are mainly of hot, whereas countries like African produce both hot and mild types (paprika) and production in Europe is predominantly of mild type. In India maximum chillies are produced in Andhra Pradesh followed by Orissa,Karnataka, West Bengal and Maharashtra. Guntur in Andhra Pradesh is known for chillies.

Different varieties exported are G-4, Kiran and Jwala.

Varieties

Jwala

Pods of Jwala are long and slender (10-12 cm in length), in which seed content is less than 35%, suitable for Green chilly production around Hyderabad.

(G-4) Bhagya Lakshmi

G-4 Pods are olive green in colour which turns dark red on ripening; calyx is deeply shaped, in which seed content is 38-40%, which is fairly tolerant to pest and diseases and useful for green chilly also.

Kiran (X-200)

The Fruits are long, thin with light green pericarp turning light red colour on ripening, colour is retentive on storage. The pods are highly pungent and fairly tolerant to thrips, mites and aphids. Calyx
Persistent and cup shaped. Seed content 42%

Red Chilli Powder

Product Description

Chilli powder is the dried, pulverized fruit of one or more varieties of chilli pepper, sometimes with the addition of other spices.
Chilli powder is sometimes known by the specific type of chilli pepper used. Varieties of chilli peppers used to make chilli powder include ancho, Aleppo, cayenne, chipotle chile de árbol, Cheongyang, jalapeño, Korean red, New Mexico, pasilla, and piri piri chilli peppers.

It is used as a spice to add pungency or piquancy and flavour to dishes.

The blends of chilli powder are composed primarily of chilli peppers and are blended with other spices including cumin, onion, garlic powder, and sometimes salt. The chillies are most commonly either red chilli peppers or cayenne peppers, which are both of the species Capsicum annum.
